About me
I'm Michael and I study the gut microbiome, hence "GutMichaelBiome". My research is clarifying the reciprocal influences of our gut microbiomes and our environment to impact our health. Our gut microbiomes are a mirror of these mosaic influences. My art seeks to reflect the insights gained in my research with a sprinkle of humor and whimsy.
The scientific process is as much a creative one as it is intellectual. Scientific discovery requires connecting previously unconnected concepts to discover new ones. Seeing familiar ideas from unfamiliar perspectives to reveal previously hidden secrets of our universe. Through my art, I'm able to embody and share my research through creative expression.
